Maryland HIMSS & CHIME Leadership Academy: This event occured on March 6 - 7 2019
NJ HIMSS is excited and honored to be able to continually extend educational opportunities to our members and colleagues in leadership. We recognize that the IT executive role in today’s healthcare climate has never been more challenging or everchanging. We have worked with the MD HIMSS Chapter to extend a great event to our leaders designed for those interested in taking their role to the next level.
Taught by a faculty of healthcare CIOs and CMIOs, MD HIMSS has partnered with CHIME to host one-day programs (spread over two days) featuring a collaborative teaching methodology combining presentations, small group discussions, case study analysis, progressive problem solving, and personal mentoring.
The leadership lessons experienced at the Leadership Academy are applicable to any healthcare IT leader at all levels in an organization. The principles and approaches taught have benefit for all attendees in advancing leaders’ contributions and careers.
We will offer the following CEUs (continuing education credits) to CHIME members attending, per track:
- Leadership Academy: 7 CEUs
- CMIO Leadership Academy: 7 CEUs
- Cybersecurity Academy: 7 CEUs
Occured Thursday, February 21 at 12 noon – The Current Cybersecurity Threat Landscape in Healthcare and the Top 10 Things to do to Reduce Risk - Presenters: Scott Fitzgerald, Certified CISO and Paul Garrin, CIO/CTO Partner at Tatum a Randstad Company. Details: : Healthcare continues to be a prime target for attackers. Scott and Paul will present the current cybersecurity threats and the top 10 information security controls that healthcare organizations can implement to reduce risk.
